AT&T 2010 Certified Solutions Catalog

The AT&T 2010 Certified Solutions Catalog was a data-driven printed publication developed at Content Master, designed to showcase AT&T-certified partner solutions in a structured, highly flexible format. Breaking from traditional static print design, the catalog employed a custom-built XML parser and InDesign's Data Merge functionality to dynamically populate pages, manage content lengths, automate page numbering, and generate both table of contents and index entries directly from XML schemas. This allowed the catalog to update seamlessly as new data was provided, similar to dynamic website methodologies.

The XML parser, developed by Umesh Patel in C#, enabled the translation of complex XML datasets into formatted, print-ready layouts. Solutions were organized by both industry verticals (such as telecommunications, legal, and manufacturing) and cross-industry categories (including security, email, and VPN), enabling readers to quickly navigate content relevant to their specific needs.

This project was closely tied to other AT&T initiatives, including the 2010 Developer Summit Registration Portal, the earlier devCentral Certified Solutions Toolkit, and the related devCentral Sales Kit DVD. Together, these projects consistently demonstrated how modern, data-driven techniques could streamline content management and reduce the reliance on manual layout updates, placing control directly in the hands of content owners.
