Syngo Dynamics Animation - Interactive Media Presentation
This 2009 joint demonstration by Microsoft and Siemens Syngo Dynamics used a Silverlight-based video to illustrate how Silverlight could improve medical imaging workflows. The animation focused on the technical components of a DICOM server pipeline—covering image capture, VC-1 compression, and delivery across hospital intranets and the public web.
A specialized two-state Play/Pause button was implemented to simplify the interface, rather than displaying separate controls for each state. This approach drew from earlier work on dynamic UI components such as the CMButton (GlossButton). Lighting effects provided subtle depth but did not track cursor movement. The player used XAML vector controls and a Silverlight PlaneProjection flip to reveal additional resources on the back of the video panel. The final result demonstrated how Silverlight could offer a clear, efficient user experience within a healthcare setting.
