Windows Essential Server Solutions "Dream Server" Prototype (2008)
Early Silverlight 1.0 technical prototype developed for Lava Lobe, a Seattle-based video production company contracted by Microsoft. This interactive demo promoted the launch of Microsoft’s "Dream Server" under the Windows Essential Server Solutions branding (precursor to Azure era services).
The interface allowed users to enter personal details via form widgets. User-submitted names were dynamically overlaid onto a blank sign held in a video, seamlessly integrated using Silverlight’s VideoBrush technology. Due to the early version of Silverlight, precise synchronization required manually tracking and animating points in the video frame-by-frame to produce a complex XAML storyboard. I collaborated closely with Umesh Patel on the technical development, translating provided PDF designs into a fully functional interactive experience.
This project represented an early, challenging implementation of dynamic video-to-XAML content synchronization in Silverlight, showcasing capabilities that became more practical and widespread in later Silverlight and Azure-related web applications.
