Customer Evidence Showcase - Azure-Integrated Prototype

The Microsoft Customer Evidence Showcase was an innovative interactive platform designed to showcase enterprise success stories leveraging Microsoft technologies. Originally part of Microsoft’s User Experience (UX) Kit launched in 2010 at SXSW, this showcase evolved from a basic Silverlight carousel UI into a sophisticated, cloud-integrated experience.

In 2011, while working at Content Master, I was tasked with redesigning and significantly upgrading the Customer Evidence Showcase. This redesign involved transitioning the platform onto Microsoft Azure’s cloud infrastructure, specifically Azure Blob Storage, marking one of the first major uses of Azure for high-visibility web media applications. The project leveraged Azure for seamless scalability and global content distribution, allowing rapid updates through integration with a third-party content management system.

The interface was significantly enhanced, introducing advanced interactive elements including cover-flow carousels, contextual pop-ups, and intuitive navigation menus, providing an engaging way for users to explore content. My design updates emphasized visual clarity and ease of content discovery, enabling users to quickly access related stories through interactive thumbnails and dynamic content panels.

This project had strategic importance for Microsoft, serving as an exemplar of enterprise content delivery via cloud services. It showcased successful implementations of Microsoft technology, ranging from digital marketing campaigns (such as Mass Effect’s interactive ads) to mobile applications (eBay’s Windows Phone 7 app), all within an interactive, media-rich Silverlight experience. The showcase effectively demonstrated how Microsoft’s own technologies—Silverlight, Azure, and Expression Blend—could integrate seamlessly to deliver compelling digital experiences.

Overall, this redesign significantly elevated Microsoft’s storytelling capabilities around enterprise case studies, providing a visually engaging, easily navigable experience that was cutting-edge at the time. It foreshadowed broader trends in digital content marketing, cloud content distribution, and interactive web design.

This project is part of a series of high-profile Microsoft initiatives showcasing my work, including the SQL Server 2008 Poster and the SQL Server High Availability Poster.
