Prototype interface for Bing Conversational Understanding, later known as Cortana. Demonstrates foundational concepts, including a radial VU meter—a core visual component of Cortana—and a real-time UI clearly indicating interaction states such as listening, processing, and speaking. Developed from a detailed 50-page specification, these concepts represent the earliest known examples of the "visual personality element" approach, and were subsequently handed off to the team responsible for creating Cortana.
